Cristina McCarter is a proud native Memphian with a pure passion for her city and the culinary scene. Eating local is more than a personal choice for her, it is a lifestyle. With previous years of food blogging and exploring her own city, she uncovered the little-known gems and hideaways in Memphis that truly make this city one of the best foodie destinations in the south. She's no stranger to the "grit and grind" it takes to be successful and she used that to her advantage while working in marketing for the local Yelp community and handling sales for Memphis Flyer. Cristina started building her own food tasting tour company, City Tasting Tours.
Cristina’s main goal is to introduce visitors and locals alike to the restaurants in town that will indeed leave guests in food heaven! Her positive perspective on Memphis has led her to receive many accolades that include the 2017 “Interesting and Influential" awardee and most recently named part of the Memphis Business Journal’s 40 under 40 Class of 2019. Her love of food began in her childhood from farmers market visits and dining at the famous local restaurants to current day foodprenuer. She recently launched an incredible umbrella company, City Tasting Events that will cultivate more unique food and beverage experiences in the Mid-South area. As a Foodprenuer, her love of connecting people and communities through food continues to grow, while her events continue to gain notoriety as “100 Things to do in Memphis Before You Die” and “Actual Cool Things to Do in Memphis in Thrillist”! Cristina recently curated one of the newest food festivals in Memphis, Craft Food and Wine Festival and co-founded Feast and Graze, a charcuterie delivery service, that is quickly becoming a fan favorite as well as a novelty food subscribtion box, City Tasting Box, that's been featured in Forbes. |
